SA’s TOP RESTAURANT BRANDS


According to the results survey conducted by Acentric™ Marketing Research and published in the Brands and Branding in South Africa, Spur was identified as SA’s leading restaurant brand for 2012. The survey was conducted in the first quarter of 2012 and included 21 restaurant-chain brands. KFC was rated second, thereafter Mugg and Bean, McDonalds and Woolworths.

The defining top three features and signature of Spur out of fifteen listed features were:
          Enjoyment
         Friendly Service
      Tradition
      Good Interior
      Good Location
 
The other features listed and rated were:
      Tasty Food
      Quality Food
      Attractive Food
      Fast Service
      Reliable Service 
      Knowledgeable staff
      Value for money
      Clean
      Upmarket
      Trendy

Clearly the rating was awarded on the overall scores in all categories and Spur had the best package results. Despite this being a food orientated rating the top three defining and signature features that stood out way above the others were ‘enjoyment, friendly service and tradition’. This speaks volumes about the love for positive and friendly engagement with a brand!



Lending weight to the theory that a friendly brand who also engages on twitter can only make headway with and gain market share. It’s all about building relationships!
